He shook his head, and stubbed out his cigarette, blowing a smoke ring out into the night sky.

“Nah, I’m good,” Zed replied, unusually quiet this evening.  He had been tired, jet-lagged, really, from the flight over.  That plus a late night of boring-ass surveillance the night before did not help matters greatly either.

“We crashing at your place tonight?”  he asked Xu, quirking a smile.  “Can I have the top bunk?”
