Transience and Oblivion

Existence is transient, ephemeral. As we are born, so we die. As the flower blooms and fades, everything that comes to us is taken away. Nothing we do will last. The sum total of our existence - our memories, thoughts, ideas - all the accumulated knowledge and experiences that make us who we are, will be lost in time. Even as we live on in the memories of others, those memories will follow us into oblivion.
